Workshop on Documentary Film Appreciation:

Bangladesh Documentary Council is going to organize a 3 day long documentary film appreciation workshop as a part of the programs of Bangladesh Documentary Film Festival 2014, titled ‘Documenting Bangladesh 5’ on 29-31 March, 2014.

Objectives: Through this workshop, participants will have skills and understanding to appreciate and explain different genres and styles of documentary films.    

Workshop Contents: Introduction to film, Difference between Fiction & Non Fiction, Historical Development of documentary: Bangladesh Perspective, Power of Documentary, Documentary and Art, etc.

Workshop Structure: The three day workshop will consist 2 sessions each day. Earlier session will be focused more on theory. Second session will be focused on interactive discussion with film screening. Each session will be of one and a half hour.

Workshop Venue: Seminar Hall, Central Public Library, Shahbag, Dhaka

Workshop Schedule & Timing:  29, 30, 31 March, 2014 from 10 am-1.10 pm (including 10 min tea break)

Number of Participants: 50 persons

Eligibility for participation: Under Graduates & Graduate Students who have strong interest on documentary film.

Selection of Participants: There will be a selection process amongst the applicants.

Registration Fee: 500 BDT per person (reading materials & refreshment will be provided)
