Features & Programs of the Festival

Screening of almost 50-55 selective documentary films made by Bangladeshi makers including few internationally acclaimed and award winning documentaries.

Everyday four shows and in total 18-20 shows in five days, which will be held in Main Auditorium, National Museum and in Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium, Seminar Hall of National Public Library, Shahbag, Dhaka.

There will be a special segment consisting best selective South Asian documentaries from the festival of Film South Asia 2013, Nepal.

There will be another special segment, titled Protibader Pramannochitro (Documentaries on Protests)”, in which 5/6 selective Bangladeshi documentaries will be screened on the subject of deferent type of protests.

There are two Awards in the festival; one is as Srestho Pramannochitro Nirmata Puroskar (eligible for any documentary maker for any documentary), the other one is as Srestho Nobin Pramannochitro Nirmata Puroskar (eligible for the new documentary makers for his/her 1st and 2nd film). Awards will be given on the closing ceremony.

Also there is a Life Time Achievement Award, which will be given to the eminent film maker and cameraperson Late Tarek Masud & Late Mishuk Muneer jointly this year to acknowledge their contribution in the field of documentary film in Bangladesh. Awards will be given on the opening ceremony.

One National Seminar and a 3 day long Workshop on deferent aspects of Documentary filmmaking will be held during Festival at Seminar Hall, Public Library and at Sufia Kamal Auditorium, National Museum, Dhaka.

A Press Conference and a Party will be arranged in presence of documentary makers, producers, intellectuals, journalists and eminent cultural personalities during festival.

Program Index, Posters, Flyers, Banners, Festoons, T –Shirt and others will be made.

A quality Brochure will be published.

Ticket Sales, Press & Information Center, Festival Office will be constructed.
